RegCure is the undisputed leader in the registry cleaner market. Thanks to its highly–advanced technology, it is capable of scanning your Windows registry and detecting missing, obsolete, and corrupt entries that are likely the cause of poor PC performance. By using RegCure, you are ensuring that your Windows registry is unpolluted, resulting in optimized PC performance.

Following is a list of items, keywords, and terms you would likely come across when dealing with high PC performance and the registry cleaner market.

Windows Registry

The Windows registry is a vital part of the Microsoft line of Windows operating systems. It is a complex database located in different files and on different locations on your PC. The exact file structure and location depends on the Windows version you have installed. The predecessor of the Windows registry was the .INI file, which was assigned on a per program basis. As you can imagine, every program having its own .INI file screams organization and tracking nightmare so the Windows registry was developed. Its sole purpose was to make OS changes manageable and easily track–able.

The Windows registry monitors, logs and records the different relationships existing in your PC. These ‘relationships’ include data and settings related to hardware, software, PC users and their respective user settings on your PC. EVERY change you make is recorded and as you can imagine, left unchecked, the Windows registry will become bloated with unnecessary information and obsolete entries, resulting in PC problems such as computer freezes, system crashes and overall poor PC performance.

Think of it this way: if you never clean your clothes closet – from the time you were born till the time you become an adult – that closet will be filled with old clothes you will never wear again. In the end, your closet will be too full with unnecessary items, making it completely useless to you in the end.

RegCure is your veritable ‘closet cleaner’. It sweeps through the Windows registry and informs you of files, data and entries that need to be fixed or thrown out. The result? An efficient Windows registry that facilitates optimized PC performance.

ActiveX Control / Active X Control

An ActiveX control is a control based on Microsof´s Active X technology. It is a set of rules meant to dictate how applications should share information. Once implemented, the ActiveX control becomes a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) module. Active X controls show features such as scripting and initialization security, smaller footprint and digital certification, runtime licensing, and others. ActiveX errors are quite common especially if you always access web pages with plenty of embedded multimedia content.

If you allow ActiveX controls to be downloaded and installed, then you are fixing the error. HOWEVER, the error itself may have been logged in the Windows registry and left there, it is basically an unnecessary entry polluting the registry. RegCure will detect these types of entries and delete or repair them as necessary.

Application Path Problems

Disk directories that are not referenced appropriately can easily result in applications failing to start. RegCure scans the Application Paths section of the Window registry, checking it for any incorrectly referenced directory.

CHECKDISK and CHKDSK Errors

Checkdisk is actually a command in Microsoft Windows. It instructs your PC to verify the integrity of a hard disk or floppy disk connected to it. A CHKDSK error normally occurs when the disk you have inserted on your PC is corrupt (in which case you need to format it), or when your PC was irregularly shut down, causing disk problems (in which case all you have to do is run RegCure to fix the problem).

Computer Freeze

A computer freeze is defined as when an application or the PC itself simply refuses to respond to whatever mouse or keyboard input. It can be caused by power fluctuations or unstable electricity sources, and software programming faults but the likely culprit is unstable Windows registries! RegCure scans your Windows registry and ensure that it only has valid, updated and undamaged data.

DLL Errors

DLL stands for dynamic–link library. Its original purpose was to save on the disk space and memory needed by applications by keeping them locally on the hard drive. In short, a DLL file holds data that is stored in a library that is retrieved and shared by applications whose purpose or use is more or less the same. And because one always, adds, updates and removes software on one´s PC, it is logical that this ‘information sharing’ changes all the time, causing countless errors and invalid entries in the Windows registry. RegCure is highly capable of scanning your Windows registry and detecting all these invalid entries causing DLL errors.

EXE Errors

EXE means ‘executable’. EXE files are programs that basically tell the computer how to interpret applications. EXE errors often occur when the resources needed by the application you are trying to install are not available (missing, corrupt, etc.). RegCure scans the Windows registry and ensure that all resources, files and entries are present, valid and undamaged.

Empty Registry Keys

Registry keys that have no value pollute the Windows registry. RegCure scans and detects these and removes them, improving the overall health of the Windows registry.

Font Errors

Often encountered in Word processing applications, these errors occur when you are trying to use missing or damaged font files. RegCure is highly capable of scanning your Windows registry and detecting these damaged or corrupt files. It will then either try to repair them or delete them (ensuring that your PC only has valid font files).

Help Files Problems

You are lost on what to do so you open the associated Help file and... NOTHING; or worse, the Help file seems to be corrupt. RegCure scans the Windows registry and will inform you of any invalid Help file references.

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer (IE) is the web browser included in all Microsoft Windows operating systems. IE errors can be avenues through which malware, spyware, and viruses can invade your PC. Prevent this from occurring by ensuring you have the latest IE version installed and that you always have the latest Microsoft released security patches. IE errors can be logged as entries into the Windows registry too. RegCure scans the Windows registry and will inform you of any outdated IE error on file.

JavaScript

JavaScript is a scripting language highly associated with web pages. Its main purpose is to make HTML pages more interactive. JavaScript errors often occur when there is a problem with the way the web page was coded. And although these errors can be addressed by the browser itself, incorrect entries are still logged in the Windows registry as a result of this repair. RegCure scans the Windows registry and will inform you of any outdated JavaScript error on file.

Program Shortcut Problems

If you create a shortcut for a program and then later on remove of place the application in a different directory, program shortcut problems occur. Invalid program shortcuts will NOT launch the application anymore and simply clog the Windows registry. RegCure scans the registry, detects these invalid shortcuts, and will remove them for you.

Runtime Errors

Runtime is a computer term which denotes a particular application´s operations from beginning till end. And because it is almost impossible for programmers to replicate every possible scenario under which an application will run, runtime errors occur. Runtime errors are not disastrous but left unchecked, they can way heavily on your PC´s Windows registry, causing sluggish PC performance. RegCure scans the Windows registry and will inform you of any runtime error that needs to be fixed or deleted.

Uninstaller Errors

You have installed an application and now you don´t want it. You use the application´s Uninstall feature yet the program seems to still be on your PC. This scenario prompts uninstaller errors and not only does it place invalid data on the Windows registry. Left unchecked, the application stays on your PC consuming valuable disk space. RegCure is highly capable of scanning your Windows registry and detecting invalid data that have been left behind by faulty uninstalls.

Win32

Win32 is an application program interface (API) developed by Microsoft to enable computer applications to effectively interact with each other. Win32 errors generally mean problems in the Windows registry. RegCure scans your Windows registry and will inform you of any invalid data or corrupt files causing system32 errors.

W32

W32 is a worm that spreads itself via MSN Messenger. W32 errors indicate the presence of a virus on your PC and so measures must be taken to contain and remove the virus. To prevent W32 from invading your PC, install reliable anti–virus software and regularly clean your Windows registry with RegCure. The latter will help keep your PC fit, making it less prone to virus attacks.

Shell Extensions – Shell extensions provide you with useful enhancements to the working environment of your PC. Invalid shell extension entries can cause irregularities that will frustrate and slow you down. The RegCure scan will find these entries so that they can be removed permanently.
