down.exe is part of Adlight´s advertising program. Like all other adware, it monitors your browsing habits and sends collective information about your internet surfing and shopping to the program's author. Recently, down.exe has been linked to a virulent worm called W32/Tanexor.A that allows remote users to attack your computer, steal passwords and data, cripple PC defenses, and download other file and viruses to the assailed system. Whether the two versions of down.exe are related is not yet known.
Recommendation:
