Fix Microsoft DirectX Errors with the Error Checking Utility

Posted by Kat

Microsoft DirectX errors are again causing headaches for PC users. While these problems can stymie your computer’s media performance, there are a few definitive steps you can take to resolve Microsoft DirectX errors.

Error Prevention

First of all, it’s best to prevent these errors from occurring. The Error Checking utility is a wonderful tool that detects and fixes errors before they cause serious problems.

Hard drives are liable to the development of bad sectors, which can harm your computer’s ability to store data. Bad sectors will also slow down processes and make it more difficult to run applications.

The Error Checking Utility works to detect bad sectors and rearrange missing files.  This tool will resolve errors quickly and thoroughly. It’s a good idea to use the Error Checking Utility often. Here’s how:

  1. Close all files that are currently open.
  2. Click Start.
  3. Click My Computer.
  4. Select the hard disk you wish to scan. Then click Properties.
  5. Find the Tools tab within the Properties dialog box. Select this tab.
  6. Click Check Now.
  7. A Check Disk dialog box will open. Check the box with the text “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.”
  8. Click Start.

Note: If your computer finds bad sectors, make sure you select to repair these bad sectors.

While the Error Checking Utility is a wonderful housecleaning tool for your hard drive, it does not completely prevent errors from attacking your computer. Often, malicious and intrusive programs such as spyware or malware can spur the formation of errors.

DirectX Security Tips

Safe browsing is the best way to foil malware and spyware attacks. Stay away from questionable or dangerous websites. Still, spyware can tenaciously attack even the most careful users. Since DirectX is particularly vulnerable to errors, spyware can create havoc with DirectX.

There are several anti-spyware tools available. Make sure you do your research before you download these. Some of these tools work wonders to apprehend errors before they interfere with processes.

The Effectiveness of Registry Cleaners

If DirectX problems are already meddling with your system’s performance, then a registry cleaner can help clear these errors from your computer. Registry cleaners work by thoroughly scanning your registry and removing lost keys, missing files, and corrupt data.
