Adobe Flash Player is software needed to access certain types of content on the internet. Websites such as Youtube.com, MSN.com, and Myspace.com utilize flash player to show videos, stream music, and upload picture slideshows. If you do not have the latest version of Flash Player downloaded, you cannot view this content.
Errors Associated with Flash Player
If you have downloaded the latest version of Flash Player and still cannot view content on websites, usually you get a warning like:
“Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia’s Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.”
If you know you have downloaded the latest version of Flash player, there may have been an error in the installation process.
This error occurs often when downloading from the Adobe website and can be caused by any number of things. The most common cause is that your security software is interfering with the installation or download or the installer is just corrupted. In addition, your user rights may not be set at the correct level or there may be a registry error on your computer preventing installation.
How to Fix and Update Flash Player
To fix this error, Flash Player must be re-installed.
To do this, you must go to the Adobe website and use their uninstall tool to uninstall the corrupted version.
Reboot your computer.
Then search for the Adobe Flash Player standalone installation file.
Download, reboot, and you should be set.
To prevent botched installation of Flash Player, download and use a registry cleaner to clear your system’s hard drive of registry errors. These errors can inhibit the installation of files or software onto your computer and cause problems. Utilize a good registry cleaner to maintain Flash Player and help optimize your PC’s performance.
As security advances so does the opposition. Many malicious software makers are starting to notice that the average PC user is becoming smarter when it comes to avoiding emails that could be potentially harmful.
Recently these malicious programmers have started to take a different path. They have begun to create different types of threats. One type that you may have already seen is where the program will inform the user needs to download security software. Three other major programs which are known as Win32/FakeXPA, Win32/FakeSecSen, and Win32/Renos have been found on millions of computers.
Attacks have also been taking place in common files such as .PDF and .DOC. Even Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 8 have had several exploits in them. While there are updates out for these programs, many users don’t update their software. For example over 90 percent of attacks in Microsoft Office have been from an exploit that could be fixed with a simple update. Surprisingly this update is over 2 years old!
While many PC users look for updates through Microsoft they rarely look to update other programs. There are a lot of PC users that believe that the Microsoft updates will solve everything. While Microsoft does run the PC business due to most users using Windows, they can’t watch over every company’s individual software issues such as the issue with Adobe.
It’s surprising how many people have issues with malicious software but do nothing to fix it. There are updates for programs coming out all the time to fix these holes and help prevent attacks however many users don’t seem to check for updates as they should. Microsoft alone last year released 78 updates that fixed 155 issues.
Therefore if you are having continuous problems with attacks you should ensure that everything on your computer is up to date. While you may update Windows constantly it’s not enough to stop someone from attacking your computer.

If you have a Flash Player plugged in to your browser, then you’d better read this.
Adobe has recently announced the release of an upgrade/patch for its graphics and video player. The company advises all Flash users to immediately shift to the latest version, 9.0.124.0, in order to avert possible malware attacks.
The patches plug the security gaps that make the player vulnerable to banner advertisements that are infected with spyware or adware. A PC that gets infected with this type of malware through the Adoble player defect could be susceptible to control by unauthorized third parties.
There have been increasing reports of bogus ad banners that are exploiting Flash’s security lapse. Infection immediately takes place once the user clicks on the malicious advertisement.
Download the upgrade immediately. Don’t be too complacent or confident simply because you have a wide range of security tools or software in your arsenal. It’s definitely better if all your bases are covered.
