ioSafe Exposes External, Submersible, Fire-proof HDD Enclosure

Posted by Mike

If safety is your concern about security then ioSafe’s new external hard drive that is submersible and fire-proof should be on your consideration.

The fire-proof enclosure was originally leaked when the manufacturer hinted of 2.5-inch HDDs, wrapping them in armor, then stuffing them into 3.5-inch enclosures pus water and fire protection. But it now appears that they was a change in plans so here comes a larger and perhaps even harder external USB 2.0 enclosures.

The enclosure can fit in standard Western Digital or Seagate hard disks, enabling it to survive water submersion for three days and being caught on fire for 30 minutes.

There are three variants available namely 500GB, 1TB and 1.5TB. Price for 500GB is $199, and $348 for the 1.5TB model.

There is a warranty that comes with every purchase. The item can be purchased online by going to ioSafe’s official website.
