How You Can Repair Microsoft Word Errors Quickly

Posted by Kat

If you need to repair Microsoft Word, doing a search online will produce a host of results; however, they do require some technical knowledge of the computer.  If you need to repair Microsoft Word quickly, the following methods are the way to go.

Reinstall Word

Searching online for tricks to repair Word is possible, and there are many good solutions out there.  However, they take some time to deduce the cause of the problem, let alone fix it.

If you are in the middle of a project that was due yesterday and your word processor is unresponsive, you may need to act more quickly.  It’s not subtle, and you will lose your settings.  If speed is of the essence, reinstalling Word will solve most problems you are experiencing.

Before doing this, you will need to back up your documents and any settings you may have customized.

  • Locate your Microsoft Word program disk
  • Exit Word
  • Go to the Add/Remove programs tool
  • Uninstall Microsoft Word from your computer
  • Reinstall it from its original disk

Another Approach (Good for Persistent Errors)

If reinstalling Word seems a little drastic, you may choose to run a registry cleaner.  This is also a good method for clearing up errors that persist even after Word has been reinstalled.  An error like this indicates that there is a corrupt registry entry for Word present on the PC.

Many registry entries remain even after programs are uninstalled.  Even if the entries do not contain errors, they can still become registry clutter blocking data needed by functioning programs and causing errors on your PC.

Blue screens, file errors, computer freezes, and slow processing speed are all symptoms of registry errors.  A registry cleaning software will find registry problems and repair Microsoft Word, along with other registry-related computer errors.
