Windows XP problems often stem from the fact that Windows XP runs so many systems simultaneously.  As such, to eliminate Windows XP problems, you can sometimes take as simple an action as shutting down some of the applications which Windows XP runs.  This is a simple cure to a complicated problem, but it requires that you have a working knowledge of the systems run by Windows XP.

The following are some of Windows systems which you can safely turn off:
1) Automatic Updates:  Be careful not to disable this service if you believe you want updates on new services.  2) Alerter:  Most individuals do not use this service and it can generally be disabled without causing issues.  3) Error Reporting Service:  This service does not have a real utility as there is no dire need to report errors to Microsoft.  4) Help and Support:  This may not be a necessary service for those who do not require the assistance of Microsoft, and it can be disabled without causing issue.
